The Laws of Kashrut PDF Print E-mail
The dietary laws as laid down in the Torah and the Mishnah apply to a number of different kinds of animals:
  • Laws concerning land animals
  • Laws concerning birds
  • Laws concerning fish

Not only are there specifications on what animals may be eaten, but there are specific laws as to how the animal has to be killed:
  • The Laws of Shechitah

Products that are neither milk nor meat are parev. These include eggs, vegetables and wine.
There are also many implications concerning the cleanliness of the kitchen (kosher kitchen).
