Yom Haatzmaut - Israeli Independence Day PDF Print E-mail

Israeli Independence Day is a very important day for most Jews, because it celebrates the anniversary of the founding of the state of Israel, in 1948. In Israel, the day is marked by military parades. There is nothing religious about this festival at all.
The day before, Yom HaZikaron (The Day of Rememberance) is a day for remembering all the soldiers who have died in defence of the Israeli state.
