Kabbalah
And they shall teach no more every man his neighbour, and every man his brother, saying, Know the LORD: for they shall all know me, from the least of them unto the greatest of them (Jeremiah 31:34)
For the earth shall be full of the knowledge of the LORD, as the waters cover the sea (Isaiah 11:9)

The Practical Kabbalah of Shimmush Tehillim

New!

We introduce a revised version of Shimmush Tehillim by Selig, a classic work on practical Kabbalah. Despite it is not common in contemporary Jews circles, it is still preserved in a few manuscripts in Vatican library. We modernized the text, checked the Hebrew names, and added their correct writing. We also include all psalms in Ashurit script, with a literal modernized translation side by side. This is very useful for study and
meditation, because it employs the holy script. We took a special care in constructing the fonts closest to the original script instructions. Shimmush and Psalms really complement each other, because you can
cross-reference them, and see how to develop your own Gematrias and combinations.

To complete the text, we added hints about very important and hidden topics. The purpose is just to open the doors, and not to show everything. Thus, the Nekudot/Taamim/Tagin/Otiot system is briefly explained in its kabbalistic meaning. Also, the way of calculating your own personal psalms. Once, Siddurim (prayer books) were custom prepared for each person, because each of us has a different key to unlock the power of prayer. Personal psalms were inserted in the proper points of the personal Siddur, in order to attain this result. We also included psalms 151-155, hinting at their meaning. In conclusion, this book
is a good intro as a beginning for further study and research.

Sefer Ha-Goralot, Book of Oracles by Chaim Vital

New!

In times of need, the authorities of Israel consulted an Oracle (Goral) to learn the will of Ha-Shem (God) and to receive answers to their questions. Conceived by Ahitophel, special adviser of King David, the Goraloth elicit the intercession of 117 Angels in order to receive an answer directly from God concerning matters that we take at heart.

Also known as the Goralot of Ahitofel, they can answer and advise practically on every field. This version is known as the most complete, and the largest too. It is translated for the first time in English, and it gives all the names of the angels connected to every specific question. Rules are given in order to expand the system, together with the correct preparation in order to let it work.

Get Ha-Shemot, Divorce of the Names by Abraham Abulafia

New!

This is one of the best books on Kabbalah we have ever seen because of its clarity of exposition and completeness. It can rival the most modern and schematic books, because it lays down all the basics in an unprecedent manner that is very unusual for the whole abulafian literature. The reader is led hand in hand to taste also the most advanced topics. We strongly advise this short book, which is an English version only.

Get Ha-Shemot is Abulafia's attempt to describe the general ideology and cosmology that underlie the fundamental principle of Kabbalah - that names and letters are the essential, active, and creative elements of reality. He meant it as a rule of thumb for the masters of the names to know the truth behind the names they use, because no name can properly be used without such knowledge. In this work, which was written from the start for general distribution, Abulafia outlines the cosmic stage on which his entire Kabbalah is set, and explains its general purpose - the perfection of the mind by way of the intellect. This makes Get Ha-Shemot an indispensable introduction to his entire Kabbalah. Abulafia explains that Kabbalah is the part of Torah that must remain concealed from the public, and only received by word of mouth from a worthy teacher to a worthy student. However, to set some guidelines about the form of Kabbalah, Abulafia presents us here with what he takes to be the first and fundamental principles of all of Kabbalah. This masterpiece of Kabbalah is a very lucid and actual introduction to Kabbalah both for beginners and advanced students.

Shaarei Tzedek - Gates of Righteousness

New!

Finally, the complete edition of Shaarei Tzedek. This important work was traditionally attributed to Shem Tov Sefardi, and according to the tradition we maintained the author's name. Nevertheless, a recent study by Moshe Idel demonstrated that this book was probably written by Natan ben Saadyah Harar, a direct disciple of Abulafia.

The author records and explains the techniques of prophetic Kabbalah that he received from his master (probably Abulafia himself). Among its chapters are "The Gate of Yod", "The Gate of the Letters", "The Way of Tzeruf", "The Way of Composition", "The Way of Dilug", "The Way of Gimatria", just to cite some of them. Practically, every known technique is explained.

Moreover, the author says in which order his master taught him the techniques, and how to perform them. He even expains what actually happened to him while practicing those techniques, and autobiographic works in Kabbalah are very rare in general.

All this makes this book a unique practical tool for the spiritual seeker, because of the clear exposition of the very same techniques that the prophets employed. There are only three books that openly disclose the techniques, and surely Shaarei Tzedek is the one to start with. The next one, Yehuda Albotini's Sulam Aliyah (Ladder of Ascent) will be published in the near future, and is known as the most technical and deep book on the subject. The two books combined will give a solid background and enable the reader to follow the techniques. Shaarei Tzedek is reconstructed from its four known manuscripts, and presented here for the first time in English.
